Ik blijf versteld staan van Sion Sono. Zeker weten de meest briljante regisseur en schrijver ooit. Zijn films hebben niets gemeen behalve dat ze allemaal geniaal zijn en een surrealistische vibe hebben. Ik heb tot nu toe Tokyo Gore Police, Love Exposure, Suicide Circle, Noriko's Dinner Table, Cold Fish, Hair Extensions, en Strange Circus gezien, en het zijn allemaal fantastische aanraders! Aangezien 12 van zijn 21 films prijzen hebben gewonnen (van de 16 nominaties) heb ik nog wat te genieten

hehe nog nooit van gehoord, maar ik ben wel weer toe aan wat vernieuwing wat betreft cinema. Heb je van deze lijst een absolute aanrader om als eerste te kijken?

Ik vind Strange Circus het best (zie het andere topic). Daarna gelijkspel tussen Love Exposure, Cold Fish, en Noriko's Dinner Table. Tokyo Gore Police is een persoonlijke facoriet van me, maar die is 'not for everyone'. En bovendien heeft hij daar maar een paar stukjes van gedaan.
Zijn stijl... Moeilijke vraag. Hij switched graag van genre. Tussen films en ook binnen films. Love Exposure bv begint als een absurde comedy, wordt dan een heftig drama, en eindigt als spannende thriller.
De hoofdpersonen zijn altijd hele aparte mensen, en de verhaallijn zoekt altijd de meest duistere uiteinden van de menselijke geest op. Verder zijn zijn films bijzonder onvoorspelbaar. Elke film heeft sex en bloed in de aanbieding. En zoals gezegd heeft het altijd een surrealistische vibe.

Klinkt wel goed. Vind sowieso de aziatische cinema erg interessant omdat ze vaak op heel andere dingen focussen dan bv hollywood. Dat doen de britten m.i. ook vaak erg goed.

nog niet gekeken.. druk geweest afgelopen weekend. Zal em woensdagavond kijken, vandaag en morgen tafeltennis. En dat terwijl ik em al had willen zien..

Ik ben zooo gek op TGP. Mijn laatste 3 ringtones zijn al muziek uit die film. Het was ook die film die mij verslaafd aan Japanse films maakte. Echt een viering van het absurde
Het 'vervolg' (zelfde makers) is mijn favoriete comedy ooit: Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl
Andere leuke absurde aanrader is Stacy: Attack of the Schoolgirl Zombies. Die film is echt poëtisch in stijl.
En als je nog eens iets serieus en surrealistisch wil kijken: Marebito
Ik kan zo nog wel even doorgaan :greins:

hahaha wat een film, Strange Circus.. idd geweldig. Nog beter is het om em in 1 zit te kijken, aangezien ik nu al wat kon gaan fantaseren over de afloop. Daar zat ik deels goed in, maar dat zal ik hier verder niet verklappen voor degene die de film wil gaan kijken.
Al met al hou ik er wel van, veel plot en genreverwisselingen door elkaar heen. En zeker niet te vergeten: deze film is een prachtige expressie van gekte en de gevolgen

Ja ik heb er ook echt van genoten. Het zou me niet eens gelukt zijn om hem te onderbreken. Ik was veel te nieuwsgierig!
Wat betreft genrewisselingen vond ik de film Love Exposure (ook van Sion Sono) het meest bijzonder. Maar hij duurt dan ook 4 uur, dan heb je wel wat afwisseling nodig

Verbaast me niets. Dat is echt een film voor liefhebbers van Japanse indie-horror. Zoals ik zei: Not for everyone.
Ik kan nog niet echt inschatten wat ik jou aan moet raden, maar 'Stacy: Attack of the Schoolgirl Zombies' of 'Marebito' lijkt me wel een poging waard. Marebito is ws wat toegankelijker. Of natuurlijk Cold Fish of Love Exposure van Sion Sono!
